Sognatore Rosato 2021

The Barbanera family crafts some of our most popular Tuscan reds, so we’re thrilled to present you with their NEW gold-medal rosé.

In order to make this award winner, Sofia Barbanera selected the finest Sangiovese and Merlot from the family vineyards. She then air dried them for a few weeks in a special ventilated room, just as they do for their expensive appassimento-style wines.

The key difference? Sofia opted for a gentle pressing of the grapes, giving Sognatore a deep pink hue (instead of a traditional red color). Cool fermentation brings out the gorgeous pomegranate and red berry aromas, along with fresh plum and cherry flavors. In keeping with its appassimento origin, this is a wonderfully lush, juicy, ripe-fruited rosé.

Enjoy a chilled glass on its own. Or if you’re looking to pair it with a meal, this rosato matches nicely with fish dishes and light, crisp salads.
