Rare, expressive and full of character, Sartirano Figli Nas-cëtta is a vibrant white wine with a story as compelling as its flavor. Native to the tiny village of Novello in Piedmont, this once-abandoned grape has been lovingly brought back from the brink of extinction—and the result is something truly special.
Piedmont's Langhe region is known worldwide for producing some of Italy’s most celebrated wines, and Nas-cëtta is its hidden gem. This white grape was forgotten for many years and nearly vanished due to its low, irregular yields and labor-intensive nature—demanding care that many growers couldn't commit to. (Vines often produce just one grape bunch per cane and the tight bunches require extra management to ensure grape health.)
But thanks to people like Elvio Cogno and passionate producers like the Sartirano family, Nas-cëtta is enjoying a well-deserved revival. The Sartiranos' vines grow just steps from the family winery in Novello, where four generations have championed the best of Piemontese tradition since 1946.
This semi-aromatic white bursts with citrus, orange, acacia flower, wild herbs and a hint of honey. A touch of salinity, natural minerality and complexity all add to the enjoyment. Think Sauvignon Blanc meets Vermentino, but uniquely its own. Enjoy with roasted chicken, seafood risotto, herbed goat cheese or as an aperitivo.
