Round the Blend 2018

There’s much more to California wine than Cabernet and Chardonnay – as this exciting exclusive proves. It hails from the Golden State’s exciting 2018 vintage and the cellars of Sonoma’s acclaimed Sebastiani family – and is sure to be a (much-discussed) hit at your table.

Look at the striking label, and you’ll see that this dizzyingly delicious red blends together some well-known grape varieties (e.g. Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Merlot, and Malbec) with rarities like Teroldego and Tannat. And the talented team at Sebastiani has lovingly melded them together to create a luxurious red that’s undeniably far greater than the sum of its parts.

Winemaker Greg Kitchens searched up and down the Central Coast (and across Lodi) to find premium fruit for this innovative red. We don’t have quite enough space here to tell you what each grape brings to the wine, but suffice to say this is a fantastically rich red that’s packed full of ripe bramble and blackberry flavor, with hints of violet and mocha. Greg barrel aged a small portion of the blend, which adds a further layer of complexity. The soft, creamy mouthfeel makes Round the Blend a joy to sip solo, though it will really come into its own with grilled or barbecued meats.
