Suave, sophisticated, well-traveled...Viognier is a luscious white grape variety that deserves much more attention than it receives. Well, we’ve certainly taken notice. In fact, we think it’s the perfect white to pay tribute to the equally elegant actor, author and wit, David Niven.

Viognier produces some of the world’s most opulent wines—including famed (and pricey) white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. So, it might surprise you to know that, about 20 years ago, it was down to just a few acres of vineyards in its southern French home. Luckily, winemakers began to experiment with Viognier again, and wine lovers quickly embraced the white’s heady apricot and honeysuckle character.

Today, Viognier thrives across the globe. In California’s premium Lodi region, it reaches new levels of intensity. Brilliantly sunny days ripen grapes to perfection, while the long growing season allows plenty of time for developing concentrated flavors.

This fresh 2020 release offers those classic honeysuckle and apricot notes, plus hints of mango and pineapple. Luscious, yet vibrant, it’s delicious on its own or with flavorful foods—try spatchcock chicken, lobster tail or creamy soups.

The ideal white to savor alongside one of David Niven’s iconic films. Order your share today.

Classic Movie Pairing: Enchantment (1948)
Producer Samuel Goldwyn’s unconventional drama interlaces two stories set under the same roof but in different time periods. David Niven plays Sir Roland Dane, whose history of lost love serves as a warning to his niece Grizel (Evelyn Keyes) and her love interest Pax Masterson (Farley Granger). An often forgotten charmer, it pairs well with Viognier, a similarly enchanting and often overlooked white grape.
