Discover the vibrant character of Château Le Coin Sauvignon Gris, a white Bordeaux with zesty lime and gooseberry aromas, rounded peach flavors and an underlying lemony zip. You have exclusive U.S. access, and we can’t wait for you to taste this delicious new vintage.
This gem is crafted with Sauvignon Gris, a lesser known grape closely related to Sauvignon Blanc that’s known for its richly flavored, concentrated wines. Hugh Johnson, legendary author of The World Atlas of Wine has called this wine “bloody marvelous”––and from the first sip you’ll understand why.
Winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua, an alumnus of Bordeaux’s legendary Château Haut-Brion and a previous International Wine Challenge White Wine of the Year winner, is famously obsessed with quality. To make this bottling, he sourced grapes from old, low-yielding vines, which help produce extra-concentrated flavors, from Ludovic Roussillon’s Château Le Coin estate. He then barrel-fermented a portion of the juice for a little extra richness.
The resulting wine brims with vibrant lime and gooseberry aromas, leading to grassy citrus and passion fruit flavors. It has a lovely freshness that makes this a fine choice for solo sipping. Or, pair it with classic French fare––try a tarte au saumon fumé (smoked salmon tart), roasted chicken with tarragon herb jus and more.
