You’d be hard-pressed to find a better place to grow Pinot Noir than Sonoma’s Petaluma Gap. You’ll soon taste why with Casa de Keller Pinot Noir, which shows off the lush, refined style of Pinot found in this storied region.
What’s the secret? The stretch of rolling hills between towering ridge lines funnels in cool Pacific air, leading to wines that beautifully marry ripeness and freshness.
Among the first to recognize the area’s potential, Arturo and Deborah Keller planted vines in the Petaluma Gap in 1994. Their daughter, Ana, joined later and helped the region become an American Viticultural Area (AVA) in 2017, making some of Sonoma’s finest Pinot Noirs along the way.
Usually listed for $60, Keller Pinot Noirs are a steal compared to other top Petaluma Gap offerings that reach $150 or more. But when our California wine expert, Kristina Spencer, learned that the family needed to clear space for the new vintage, she was able to secure a truly phenomenal price.
Named Casa de Keller (a nod to the family’s proud Mexican heritage), this barrel-aged Pinot has a lush, rounded profile of juicy cherry, plum and subtle spice. It’s exactly the kind of Pinot Noir that Sonoma lovers clamor for, at an unbeatable value, and will make the perfect centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner or other special meals throughout the year.
